It starts with an idea. With a tiny spark in our mind, that lets us think about the what-ifs, about the possibilities, about what lies beyond our horizon. Most people won’t follow this spark, will stay within what they are used to, what feels safe and comforting. But what happens if we do follow this sudden sally, let it carry us away to new way of thinking, to a new, completely unknown horizon. Those who choose to wander, those who are brave enough to give their mind the space to explore and diverge from common ways of thinking will be the ones who understand. Understand not only what is new and yet to come, but also are able to look back and reflect in a different way. We diverge when we leave the common trail, when we wander beyond already beaten paths and follow this light, that eventually leads us to a never seen, never experienced part of our own mind. And maybe it won’t. Maybe it will lead us to other paths, to other thoughts and ideas, already existing in the back of our heads, just waiting to be rediscovered and connected. Divergent might not mean to create something completely new, something completely undiscovered as it stems from the knowledge we already possess. It might as well mean to re-connect, to draw conclusions that seemed unattainable before as they were missing this new specific link. Let yourself experience the power of your own mind through divergence. Let it show you your limitations as well as your potential and maybe understand, what it tries to tell you about your past, your present and your future, wherever it may branch off to. What was once thought will be thought again, yet it will never exist in the same context. Context defines divergence as much as the thought itself. When the context changes, a once fresh thought could loose its originality, while an already established institution can get a whole new meaning in a different context. So who is it that really diverges? Us, our thoughts or our environment? How do we connect and disconnect and what defines the line between known and unknown, or to put it simple: Where does divergence start in an ever moving world?
